Peter Monge

Peter Monge CSCS, is a NSCA Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist with over 20 years experience in the health industry including clinics and lectures at Equinox, The Peninsula Spa, Cardio Fitness Center, Complete Body Development, The Harvard Club and more. Peter works with world class professional athletes, as well as with clients with severe injuries. His current clientele includes celebrities, political figures, business icons, and professional athletes. Peter's science based approach takes on the research and methodologies of the biggest names in exercise science and biomechanics, including spine specialist Dr. Stu McGill, strength & conditioning coach Dan John and fitness legend Pavel Tsatsouline. He has a BS in Marketing from Rutgers University which has helped develop NYfitness into a leader in the industry. Additionally, he also holds a Masters in Political Science which he applied as an independent writer for several think tanks, blogs, and social media outlets.

Currently Peter is training for the 2020 OCR World Championships (Obstacle Course Racing) as part of the American Team.

His sports background includes: International level Swimming competitions, Nationally Ranked Triathlete and former competitive Soccer Player.

Jacqui is our very own celebrity trainer, fashionista, and lifestyle consultant. She loves sharing tips and inspiration on all things relating to fitness, nutrition and style. She will make you smile, while pushing you to doing things you never knew were possible. Jacqui has over 15 years of experience in the fitness industry, and has worked in various of the best gyms in the city including: Cardio Fitness Center, Equinox, and Complete Body Development. 

Petru Popescu 
Strength & Power Lifting Coach 

Petru started his professional career when he was 14 years old as a power-lifting competitor. At the young age of 18, Pete earned his first major gold medal by winning Romania's National University Championships. Corrective training, therapeutic work, strength & conditioning, Power Lifting, Kickboxing, and Muay Thai are his training expertise. Petru is a certified personal trainer in New York City and is very eager to share his experience and thoughts regarding fitness and leading a healthy lifestyle.

Cecile Palacios
NASM CPT and PES, KBC, IFBB, USA weightlifting

New York City bred equal parts muscle and mascara with a passion for athletic performance, nutrition, and aesthetics. I began my personal training career 10 years ago at Crunch Fitness. Exploring ways to challenge myself physically and mentally has been a constant, and necessary for optimal health. 

Strength training along with studies on macro/micro nutrients lead me to try bodybuilding competitions. In 2011 I achieved pro status in the International Federation of Bodybuilding. Athletic evolution in my blood resulted in bodybuilding leading to powerlifting which lead to olympic lifting. 

Functional training, corrective exercise, calisthenics , boxing, powerlifting and balanced nutrition is how I help my clients to not only reach, but surpass their goals.

Daria Korshunova
Sports Conditioning Coach

Daría has a background in competitive swimming, as well as strength conditioning, track, olympic lifting, and yoga. Daria began her personal training career in 2012  as a way to share her passion for sports, health, and fitness with others. Ever since, she has helped many people get stronger, healthier, leaner, and happier with their physical condition. Daria’s specialties include functional resistance training, powerlifting, strength, balance, flexibility/stretching, injury rehabilitation and movement correction. Daria is currently earning her undergraduate degree in psychology at NYU. 

Gerard Welch
Certified PT, MMA Instructor

Gerard is a personal trainer who specializes in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). For six years he has worked with clients at all fitness levels and ages, ranging from 16 to 86. Clients who have worked with Gerard in either one-on-one or class sessions appreciate that he is patient, flexible, and motivating. He is always happy to explore new ways to customize approaches to suit his client, or to simply support accountability and provide a good workout. Gerard is an advanced snowboarder, and a competitive martial arts practitioner.

Justin Hassan

Justin is a NYC National Council on Strength & Fitness personal trainer with a degree in Human Biology from the University of Albany, NY. Justin played four years of Division 1 College Football and currently is an IFBB (International Federation of BodyBuilding & Fitness) mens physique pro.

Dawn Derow
NASM Personal Trainer; AFFA; Yoga instructor; Thai Massage; mobility and recovery guru.

In 2008 Dawn started working for Crunch Fitness. She is AFAA Certified and has done a variety of teaching from Cardio Dance, Sculpt, Conditioning, TRX, to Urban Rebounding & Chisel. She gained her Yoga Alliance cert in 2012, and has been a Private Yoga Instructor since. She teaches Vinyasa and Power Yoga at Exhale Spa, Crunch and Moving Strength. In 2014 she got her certification as a THAI MASSAGE practitioner, and will carry her mats to your house, for a 90 minute, stretch/massage/meditation experience aka “Lazy Yoga”! 

She gets results by focusing on flexibility, posture, lengthening, strengthening, stability, and core work. She also adds an element of Alexander technique to her style, and with her Massage techniques demonstrates to clients how to release fascia and loosen tight areas of the body. Dawn practices what she preaches, by attending classes, workshops, and working with trainers, physical therapists, massage therapists weekly.

Jack Kwok
Strength Coach, NASM

Jack is a New York based personal trainer with a NASM certification and  a background in boxing. He has worked at Equinox and Retro Fitness, with a variety of clients ranging in ages 15-70. He specializes and has a passion for Power Lifting, strength training, functional training and bodybuilding.


Bertold was a professional basketball player and a high-fashion model. Both careers are rigorous in physical demands, and living this has given him a special insight and understanding of how the body works, and how it can be changed. Immediately after his athletic career, and foraying into modeling was a challenge due to the necessity of having  to lose weight. This sparked Bertold's deeper interest in health as he had to learn how to alter his physique. Wanting to do what is best for his body, Bertold went to great lengths to understand nutrition, exercise and kinesiology. He has first hand experience in what is required to maintain optimum health. He did this by creating exercises, meal plans that minimized exhaustion and maximized energy.

Bertold's discipline contributed to his successful modeling career. He has worked with industry greats such as Armani, Balmain, Calvin Klein, Dolce & Gabbana, Givenchy, Ralph Lauren, Thom Browne and Versace. The physical demands to achieve this gave him great empathy for his clients and a deep understanding of the very personal challenges that may arise during one’s journey. 

Daniel Buron
Masters of Exercise Science, CSCS, Nutritionist

Daniel is a Health and Wellness Coach based out of New York City. Over the past 10 years he has coached a wide spectrum of clientele, from your average Jane and Joe to your performance based athlete. Coach Buron helps his clients attain and sustain a variety of health goals with a coaching approach that focuses on exercise, nutrition, recovery, stress management, mindset, and overall healthy living.

Coach Buron has a Masters in Exercise Science with an emphasis in Coaching and Sports Nutrition. He is a Certified Precision Nutrition
Level 3 Coach and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach (CSCS) through the NSCA. He also has many continuing education certifications ranging from Kettlebells to Trigger Point Therapy.

Coach Buron’s mission is to help as many people as possible achieve a sustainable healthy lifestyle that further enables them to favorably impact their family and local community.

Heidi Skolnik
Nutritionist, M.S., C.D.N., FACSM 

Considered a thought leader in nutrition, Heidi has influenced millions through her media work, writing and thriving consulting business. Her company, Nutrition Conditioning, oversees the Sports Nutrition program at The Juilliard School and the School of American Ballet and has consulted with numerous Broadway Shows, as well as with movie and TV actors. She continues to see individuals one day at week at The Women’s Sports Medicine Center at Hospital for Special Surgery as well as in her Englewood Cliffs, NJ office. Prior, Skolnik worked with the The NY Knicks Basketball Team (7 years), NY Giants Football team (18 years), the NY Mets Baseball organization (15 years) and has worked with the NHL, MLS, WNBA, Olympic competitors, professional cyclists, marathoners, and collegiate athletes. Heidi sits on the board of The National Osteoporosis Foundation and is an advisor to Eat This Not That Bookazine. 

Heidi is author of Grill Yourself Skinny and she is co-author of Nutrient Timing for Peak Performance: The right food, the right time, the right results and The Reverse Diet: Lose Weight By Eating Dinner for Breakfast and Breakfast for Dinner. An expert resource for national media, Heidi has appeared on Live! With Kelly and Michael; Dr Oz; So You Think You Can Dance; The Meredith Vieira Show; The Today Show, Good Morning America, The Early Show, CNN American Morning and Headline News, Primetime, 20/20, Extra as well as the Food Network and is often referenced in newspapers and national magazines such as Glamour, Cosmo, Prevention, Runner’s World, Self and Dance Magazine. Additionally, Heidi consults to corporations and food industry. An experienced and sought after presenter, Heidi presents nationwide to corporations, professional organizations, universities and colleges. 

Heidi has earned two Masters degrees (one in exercise physiology, the other in human nutrition) and is a New York State Certified Nutritionist. Skolnik is a Fellow with the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and is also ACSM certified as a Health Fitness Instructor. Heidi began her career in corporate fitness and wellness at Morgan Stanley for the Sports Training Institute. 

As a realist, Heidi believes M&M’s can fit into a healthy eating style along with red peppers, red meat, broccoli, and fresh fruit and recognizes that fitness has to be a regular part of the daily routine to maintain and achieve her fitness goals – which vary based on what is going on in the rest of her life. Healthy eating and exercise change and evolve as we do.

Burcu Parlak

Licensed Massage Therapist, Reiki Practitioner 

Burcu is a Licensed Massage Therapist and Reiki Practitioner.  After receiving her Massage Therapy License from New York State in 2007, she furthered her education by taking continuing education classes on Reiki, Medical Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Spontaneous Muscle Release Technique, and Pre -Post Natal Massage

Burcu developed and mastered her unique technique over the years by integrating multiple massage techniques, stretch therapy combined with Reiki Healing to promote physical, emotional and mental well-being. She specializes in chronic pain such as neck, shoulders, lower back, sciatica pain, carpal tunnel syndrome.  Sports injuries such as tennis elbow, rotator cuff injuries, tendonitis, ankle sprains, hip and knee injuries and advanced pre-post natal massage. 

She prides herself on her ability to care and listen to the needs of others and her goal is to treat the mind and body as a whole to achieve an overall sense of well being.
